September 11.
Damien has been moved back up to 7 west today and
has a big room all to himself. He's on the low flow tube again and is only in half a litre of oxygen which is really
good. He was visited by one of the ICU nurses this morning and she was telling him about the plan to go home and
not back downstairs. Let's hope he agrees and follows orders this time... It's kinda scary now cause he usually
does well for a week and then something happens, so we are on tender hooks and praying that he gets there. He has had
all of his lines taken out so he only has one IV left in his hand just in case they need it. The nurses have to hide
his bottles when they feed him, he's still being fed through the nasal gastric tube. As you can imagine, he wants his
bottles and gets very upset when he sees one. I'm back to sleeping in with him but the room he's in now also has a sofa
bed so if daddy wanted to he can sleep with us too. It also has a fridge which makes it easier to keep food and drinks,
and an ensuite with toilet and shower so we wouldn't even have to leave the room if we didn't want too.
Let's hope everything goes smoothly and we can finally
get to take our babies home....
Mum.
